DAPA for Seniors

Geriatric patients are often the neglected and forgotten ones.   But not at DAPA, because we know that mental illness and substance abuse know no age boundary. The elderly can suffer, as can the young.

The fact is, an older persons symptoms often can be overlooked, seen simply as a part of aging. Which means if an older person has become moody, has lost interest in life, or isnt communicating, they could be suffering from mental illness. And because older persons can be far more sensitive to medication or alcohol, its easier for them to unintentionally abuse these substances.

Here is where the caring professionals at DAPAs Geriatric Psychiatric Programs can make a difference. We place a special emphasis on geriatric psychiatry, having developed an expertise by helping elderly patients cope with mental and chemical abuse disorders.
